Festive Fun, Food and Fundraising!
Students from KS4 and KS5 participated in Spirit of Enterprise, a community enterprise day on Friday 15th December, providing food and festive fun for the local community.
For the first community project, students worked with CGC Patron and renowned chef Mark Lloyd in a pop-up diner, preparing and serving up a lunch of healthy burritos to staff and members of the local community. The students were expected to participate in every aspect of the challenge, from food preparation to customer service, handling money and clearing up.
Over £370 in donations were raised, which will go to our chosen charity, Whizz Kidz.
In our second project, students created a magical Santa's Grotto for children from our local nursery, Gateway Tots, with festive fun and a gift from Santa for every child. Students were involved in preparing decorations and ensuring that each child had a fantastic experience.
Spirit of Enterprise is part of CGC’s Active Citizenships & Enterprise programme, giving our students the chance to gain valuable transferable skills through project-based learning.
We are very grateful to Mark Lloyd, and friends and neighbours from the local area for supporting our students and making the day a great success!
