Our pastoral support model is a central part of our offering at South Quay College. We believe that building a consistent, supportive relationship can help our students to over come barriers and succeed in education and beyond.
Student Journey Leads (SJL) are the members of staff who meet with young people at the start of their student journey and provide ongoing support throught their time at South Quay College. Therefore coaches meet regularly with students to help them work on personal, academic and professional development goals.
Our model is designed to ensure our students are:
We support the whole person, enabling each individual to progress, gain qualifications and advance into employment.
As well as SJLs we have a range of other staff who also support the wellbeing of our students:
"As a parent, I have been impressed with all interactions with their staff during my son’s transition from school."
